Position Summary

The Senior Financial Accountant is responsible for the integrity of the Company’s Books of Account. This position is responsible for developing and maintaining sound practices and procedures and working closely with other team members to ensure accurate and timely financial statements. This position addresses tight deadlines and a multitude of accounting activities including general ledger management, interfaces with other information systems, financial reporting, year-end audit preparation and the support of budget and forecast activities.

 

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Conduct and oversee all activities to post the Books of Account, including journal entries, data interfaces with other systems, accruals, account maintenance and coding and reconciliations
  • Prepare and maintain auditable schedules and analysis in support of general ledger account balances which take into account requirements of GAAP for proper financial accounting
  • Responsible for timely completion of cash reconciliations for all business entities
  • Establish and document best practices for financial and operational accounting policies, procedures and calendars
  • Interface directly with personnel in all functions to interpret and execute the accounting treatment of business events
  • Perform technical accounting research as needed
  • Coordinate and review the monthly close process

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting
  • CPA, preferred
  • 5+ years of experience in Accounting in positions of increasing responsibility
  • Thorough knowledge of accounting practices and procedures
  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics GP and FrX financial reporting software or other mid-range ERP systems
  • Experience with Workpaper Manager
  • Exceptional time-management and organizational skills with proven ability to work effectively and efficiently under tight deadlines in a high energy and fast-paced environment
  • Strong in MS Office; including Outlook, Excel, and Word, advanced skills in Excel
  • Experience with Professional Services Automation software or other time and expense reporting
  • Ability to manage competing deadlines and display a sense of urgency in day to day work
  • Proven ability to multi-task, effectively prioritize and provide quality results on time
  • Thorough attention to detail and accuracy
  • Experience with multi-currency accounting issues
  • Excellent interpersonal/communication skills (oral and written)
  • Strong work ethic, hands on style
