Position Summary

The Software Developer’s primary role and focus is to design and implement high quality software solutions with fellow members of our world class Research & Development team. The developer will create feature designs and proposals as well as present and defend decisions to the team. The developer is responsible for assuring implementations meet expected operation under load, are maintainable, functionally correct, and testable.

This position can be located out of our offices in Austin, TX; Johns Creek, GA or remote depending on the location of the recruit.


Primary Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and develop next generation software platform
  • Collaborate with peers from within the development team and across the company to participate in brainstorming, design discussions and research into the best approaches to tackle a diverse array of software projects
  • Diagnose and resolve software issues in current and legacy products in support of our customers and field consultants
  • Implement software solutions using C# and Java while maintaining high quality standards for the code base by following established software standards
  • Translate feature requirements into code using Java and applicable frameworks: Hibernate, Spring, etc.
  • Create unit tests for written code
  • Refactor existing code to enhance readability, maintainability, and performance
  • Rapidly learn and adopt new tools, languages, and technologies to solve problems
  • Create prototypes of new and enhanced features to demonstrate capabilities and implementation options
  • Provide Tier 3 support for customer and operational issues raised that need to be debugged at a code level
  • Provide assistance to testing, where necessary to aid in testing and test case creation
  • 10% travel required



  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or related field
  • 3+ years (or more for mid to senior level ) of experience with web based application development
  • Experience with Java application development
  • Proven experience with software design best practices, design patterns and coding standards
  • Cloud-based development and deployment experience a plus
  • Experience with Spring, Hibernate, similar Java frameworks a plus
  • Ability to effectively articulate technical challenges and solutions
  • Ability to deal well with ambiguous/undefined problems; ability to think abstractly
  • Ability to synthesize requirements underlying feature requests and recommend alternative technical approaches
  • Must be detailed oriented and a quick learner
  • Have strong communication skills both verbal and written
  • Able to work independently as well as with teams in a proactive manor
