Position Summary

This position will be responsible for working with team members to design, implement, and maintain high quality software applications and components to fulfill requirement set forth by the Product Owners. This role will work closely with fellow developers, AQ, Product Owners, and Documentation to deliver quality products. He/She will provide assistance to the Customer Support team by transferring product knowledge. The person in this role may work individually on small projects or as a contributor on more complex team projects. He/She will work under moderate supervision. The person in this role will initiate routine tasks and will normally receive no instructions on routine work and general instructions on new assignments. This position will interact regularly with Scrum team members, immediate manager, other Software and Application Developers and Architects.


Primary Responsibilities:

  • Performs assigned C++ and C# coding tasks using Microsoft Visual Studio
  • Creates tasks and estimates from feature requirements
  • Creates unit tests and participates in peer code reviews
  • Follows and contributes to design guidelines and best practices
  • Provides assistance to testing team, as needed, by aiding in testing and test case creation
  • Provides development assistance to the Customer Support team in cases requiring code defect identification or workarounds
  • Debugs complex applications to locate reported bugs and issues
  • Refactors existing code to enhance readability, performance, and general structure
  • Creates prototypes of new and enhanced features to demonstrate capabilities and implementation options
  • Follows guidelines from Architects and provides feedback if issues are encountered



  • BS in Computer Science/Software Engineering or similar program or equivalent experience
  • 4-6 years of software development experience using an Object Oriented language, developing full stack web-based applications, and using Agile development methodologies
  • Skilled at C++ development and Microsoft Visual Studio (4+ years)
  • Some C# development experience
  • Some Java application development experience is a plus
  • Experience in relational database development, preferably IBM DB2
  • Knowledgeable of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC)
  • Experience in software development environments such as Jira, and SVN
  • Proficient in Object Oriented design and development
  • Skilled with source control systems such as Git or Subversion
  • Skilled with issue tracking systems such as Jira
  • Skilled with unit testing frameworks
  • Microsoft professional certifications such as MCSD is a plus
  • Must be detailed oriented and a quick learner
  • In-depth knowledge of the principles of Scrum/Agile team management
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Excellent time management skills with the ability to organize and prioritize effectively
  • Able to concurrently manage multiple tasks and consistently complete deliverables on schedule
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and with a collaborative team
  • Proven dedication to providing excellent customer service
  • Must be capable of interacting with a wide variety of internal/external individuals at all levels
  • Strong work ethic, hands on style
  • Ability to manage competing deadlines
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in Italian and English
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
